Chasm Patch (3298) This patch has the following: 1. TCP/IP add-on 2. Modem Play add-on 3. 3 new levels with new monsters Unzip csmtcpip.zip into your current Chasm directory. Overwrite all files. Then run FIX.exe. To run the new levels double-click on addon.exe To run Chasm TCP/IP read below. Chasm for TCP/IP release notes ------------------------------ To enable Chasm TCP/IP support, start Chasm by executing chasmudp.exe. ------------------ START Chasm server ------------------ Network -> Start Brings up a submenu that allows you to choose the desired game mode (Deathmatch, Deathmatch with monsters or cooperative), enable or disable teamplay, select difficulty (easy, normal or hard), level of game you want to play. To play through TCP-IP , type of connection should be set to : TCP-IP. Select "START GAME" and press Enter. If you have a slow connection to the Internet ( Modem 28800 or slower ), but still want to start the Chasm server, you should use the "tcprate" command-line parameter. Start Chasm with: chasmudp.exe -tcprateNN , where NN means maximum number of packets sent to the server in one second. For 28800 modem normal NN is 10..14. Default is 20 packets per second, that is normal for LAN and fast Internet servers. Note: It is not recommended that more than 2 players (one as Server, another as Client) play TCP/IP Chasm with a modem connection to the Internet. ------------------ JOIN Chasm server ------------------ Network -> Join 1a. If you want to play through the Internet, type the IP address of the remote server you want be connected to in the "IP ADDRESS" field. 1b. If you want to connect to a server, running on your LAN, select "FIND LOCAL". If such a server is found, it's IP address will appear in the "IP ADDRESS" field. 2.
